38 BMW models will be available as hybrids in the next 3 months

The company has announced that alongside the new X2 crossover hybrid, it will add hybrid technology to basically every car it produces with 38 models getting some electrification, hey I didn’t know that was a real word.

The X2 looks to be an impressive vehicle which will use the i3 and i8 1.5 litre engine to power the front wheels and the electric motors to power the back wheels, giving it all wheel drive and a combined 220 bhp.

Adding to this the company will also offer hybrid versions of most of it’s cars including the 3, 5, 6 and 7 series, as well as the X3, X4, X5, X6 and X7 models. This will help the company overall with meeting the EU’s ever tightening leash on emissions standards as well as a move which will please consumers who are moving in the direction of electric vehicles more rapidly than the market itself expected.
