The Chinese government has received documents to review for approval on massive deal for Ford to use BYD batteries in its Chinese cars, if this is approved it will be the first deal BYD has made to sell its batteries to a large automaker and it will make BYD a major player in the Global auto industry.Ford operates in China alongside Changan Automobiles as under Chinese law, a foreign company must partner with a local company in order to be able to sell their products in the country.

Changan Ford will produce ten electric vehicles for the country in the near future but now it looks like they want to get their batteries from BYD, which will be a huge deal for BYD. BYD until recently was an unrecognised company outside of China but lately have been making huge plays and are now releasing vehicles into Europe and Australia.

The company is 25% owned by Warren Buffets firm Berkshire Hathaway, not to be confused with the actress with the most delightful smile in the world Anne Hathaway.
